Our data shows the majority of our grantees are meeting academic and school climate benchmarks even while adding capacity to serve more students. We judge four of five portfolio schools in operation during the 2015-2016 school year to be on track or within reach of achieving their performance goals.

Performance goals

Within 10 years, PSP expects students attending schools in our portfolio to achieve academic results roughly on par with schools from high-performing counties surrounding Philadelphia, and outperform Pennsylvania and the School District of Philadelphia on six key student outcomes. As a result, we expect twice as many Philadelphia students to go to college.

Growth investments

Schools selected for our growth grants outperform the District in reading and math, and our goal is for all of our grantees to outperform the state average.

Turnaround investments

Our turnaround investments have demonstrated dramatic improvement, and we expect the schools’ performance to ultimately exceed city and state averages.

School Investments

Since 2011, we’ve invested nearly $60 million to give 25,000 more students access to high-quality schools.

Our goal is to raise $140 million by 2022 to invest in great schools of all types. To date, we’ve raised more than $80 million.

By the Numbers

We invest in schools of all types. Our committed funds are currently invested in charter (65%), district (25%) and private (10%) schools.

Our goal is to ensure 50,000 more students each year are on the path to college by 2022.
