Early data shows the majority of our grantees are meeting academic and school climate benchmarks even while adding capacity to serve more students. As of August 2015, approximately 70 percent of our investments are high-performing or on track to meet or exceed performance benchmarks. Another 17 percent of our investments are within reach of meeting their targets with some support, while 13 percent are at-risk to not meet quality benchmarks.
Within 10 years, PSP expects students attending schools in our portfolio to achieve academic results roughly on par with schools from high-performing counties surrounding Philadelphia, and outperform Pennsylvania and the School District of Philadelphia on six key student outcomes. As a result, we expect twice as many Philadelphia students to go to college.
Schools selected for our growth grants outperform the District in reading and math, and our goal is for all of our grantees to outperform the state average.
Our turnaround investments have demonstrated dramatic improvement, and we expect the schools’ performance to ultimately exceed city and state averages.
