To ensure that great schools can thrive, we are addressing some of the most pressing needs among schools of all types:

Developing the Talent Pipeline

So far we have incubated five programs to recruit, train, and retain outstanding educators and school leaders in Philadelphia. In all, our emphasis is on preparing educators the unique challenges of urban schools. For example, over 70 schools in the city are now led or co-led by graduates or residents of PhillyPLUS, a principal training program we incubated. We also facilitate collaboration and shared professional development between schools of all types.

Supporting Families

We operate GreatPhillySchools, a multimedia resource that features profiles for over 400 public and private K-12 schools, as well as 1,900 early childhood centers. Last year 100,000 families became champions of their children’s education using GreatPhillySchools resources. Learn more about GreatPhillySchools here.

Removing Policy Barriers

Philadelphia School Advocacy Partners, our sister advocacy organization, works to advance key policies to flow resources to support high-needs students, reward great teaching, enable quality schools to grow and ensure accountability for schools that are not working. School Investments

Since 2011, we’ve invested nearly $60 million to give 25,000 more students access to high-quality schools.

Our goal is to raise $140 million by 2022 to invest in great schools of all types. To date, we’ve raised more than $80 million.

By the Numbers

We invest in schools of all types. Our committed funds are currently invested in charter (65%), district (25%) and private (10%) schools.

Our goal is to ensure 50,000 more students each year are on the path to college by 2022.
