The Philadelphia Business Journal: Philadelphia School Partnership hands out 2 grants; PSP wants to raise $100 million for the fund and has raised more than $53 million of that

The Philadelphia School Partnership has awarded two grants totaling $3.4 million to help two charter-school operators expand.

The nonprofit gave a $1.8 million grant to Scholar Academies for its plan to expand its operations by 600 to 900 students. Scholar Academies operates Young Scholars Charter School and Young Scholars Frederick Douglass Charter School. The latter is one of the School District of Philadelphia’s Renaissance Schools and Scholar Academies plans to apply to run another Renaissance School.
