Our tour of great schools

On Wednesday, two dozen parents and caregivers joined us for a “GreatPhillySchools Bus Tour” featuring three of Philly’s best schools. The trip included a neighborhood Renaissance school, a neighborhood District school, and a traditional charter school. We planned this tour — the first of many — to give more parents the chance to see some of the city’s best schools in person.

The response was incredibly positive. As one parent said, “I gained a different perspective on what makes schools great.”  You can read more about the school tours in Thursday’s Daily News.

Also, Mark Gleason was on Fox 29 Good Day yesterday to talk about GreatPhillySchools.org and today’s deadline for students to select a District high school or transfer between neighborhood schools. Watch the appearance here!
