Today we announced the launch of PhillyPLUS, a transformative new leadership institute to develop outstanding principals in Philadelphia. Read about PhillyPLUS and meet two of the residents in today’s Inquirer.
Over the last year, The Great Schools Compact – composed of leaders from District, charter and Catholic schools, along with the Mayor’s and Governor’s offices – has been working together toward the common goal of providing a high-performing school for every child in every neighborhood in Philadelphia. PhillyPLUS is one example of this cross-sector collaboration, designed to respond to the pervasive need for more high-caliber school leaders.
This has the potential to be a game changer for our city’s schools. Over the next several years, PhillyPLUS will prepare up to two-thirds of the new public and private school principals in Philadelphia. These highly effective, dynamic new leaders will build teams of high-caliber teachers and lead their students to transformational academic success.
